The B-Side
The rural side of our continents

I gave this project the name "The B-Side" with the aim, to photographically describe the rural side of our continents, to impartially focus on the particular rural communities and to record them as a document.

The B-Side, as comparison to the A-Side, urban and city population, is rarely noticed. We still today observe only the familiar, are flooded with strong images, without taking time to get to know the world of materialistically seen simple people, their cultures, customs, mentalities and especially their normal daily life at work and in their families.

With increasing migration from the land, the interest towards the rural population is constantly diminishing. Here begins the project.

Is there a B-Side? What does this other side look like? Do our ideas of these countries correspond with the reality? Will it be possible as a stranger to approach the other worlds?

The realized first parts of my project took place in North America, Siberia, the Balkan and Burkina Faso. Australia, the Far East and South America are in preparation.
